Timothy Sternberg, M.D.

Timothy Sternberg is a board-certified Florida physician with Coastal Spine Health. With more than 25 years of pain management experience, Dr. Sternberg has particular expertise in complicated pain problems, cancer pain, facial pain and vertebral compression fractures. Dr. Sternberg graduated from University of Florida’s College of Dentistry and the University of Miami’s School of Medicine. He trained at National Naval Medical Center Bethesda and the Medical University of South Carolina. He holds certifications with the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Care.

He retired as Captain, Medical Corps, USN, following his last assignment as Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his time in the U.S. Navy, he practiced throughout the United States, Panama, the Persian Gulf and Puerto Rico. He earned numerous military awards, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Sternberg has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, and has lectured widely to medical, nursing and dental groups.
