Toenail Fungus

A nail fungus infection (onychomycosis) is a medical condition that leaves many people embarrassed about the appearance of their feet. Left untreated, a toenail fungus virtually never disappears without treatment and can eat away at the toenail, nail bed, and matrix.

Onychomycosis is a progressive fungal infection that lies beneath the toenail with symptoms that can include:

  • Thickening of the nails
  • Discoloration (yellow streaks)
  • Brittle toenails
  • Dark skin under the nail
  • Separation from the nail bed
  • Flaking layers of toenail
